Frequently asked questions
Insurance & Coverage
Do I still need health insurance?
Yes — Visora covers your primary care membership; you’ll keep insurance for specialists, hospital visits, and prescriptions. We’ll help you understand exactly where the line is.
Is this the same as insurance?
No. Think of it like your car: insurance is for the accident, maintenance is for everything that keeps you from having one. Your membership covers your entire primary care relationship — same-day or next-day appointments, extended visits, direct access to your physician by text, call, or app, and a personalized care plan — all for one flat monthly fee. It’s something insurance was never designed to provide.
Membership Details
What exactly is included in the $400/month?
Your membership covers your physician relationship in full: same-day or next-day visits, extended appointments, direct access via text/call/app, comprehensive screenings and labs, and a personalized care plan built with your doctor. Nothing in that relationship gets billed separately or coded to insurance.
Can my spouse or family join too?
Yes. Visora is built for adults ages 18–64. For children, we recommend continuing care with a pediatrician, and for members 65 and older, you’re welcome to join — just know Visora is a membership, not insurance, so we don’t coordinate or bill for Medicare services. Household and family rates will be published closer to launch.
Is there a contract, or can I cancel anytime?
There’s a membership agreement you’ll sign to receive care, but it’s not a long-term contract. You can cancel anytime with 30 days’ written notice.
Your Care Experience
Will I get to see the same physician every time?
Yes. Visora is built around a real relationship with one doctor who knows your history.
Is care in-person, virtual, or both?
Both. You’ll have in-person visits with your physician along with virtual access whenever you need it — whichever fits the moment.
What happens if I need to see a specialist or go to the hospital?
Your Visora physician manages the referral, helps you understand what to expect, and stays involved afterward — following up and helping you make sense of what was recommended. The billing for that care happens directly between the specialist/hospital and your insurance; Visora isn’t part of that transaction.
What do I do in a medical emergency?
For emergencies, call 911 or go to the nearest Emergency Room. Your Visora physician will follow up afterward to help you understand next steps.
Your Data
Who can see my health data?
Only you and your care team — no insurance company, no third party. You own it fully: you can export your complete records in any format, anytime, with no forms or phone calls required.
What happens to my data if I ever leave Visora?
It’s still yours. Full export, any format, any time — leaving doesn’t change that.
